NO IDEA WHAT THIS IS?

Had to go up to the Hôtel de Ville today to get a Certificat de Résidence for my pension people who are miffed that I didn't tell them that I'd moved house from the third floor to the basement flat! No sweat - in their garden afterwards I came across this strange plant which has flowers like a hydrangea, but leaves a bit like a mini gunnera?

Broke a tooth this morning just brushing it too enthusiastically  - old age is full of surprises!

Watched a magic 15 year-old - Cori Gauff (extra) beat her inspiration Venus Williams 6-4, 6-4 in the first round of that Wimbledon stuff...
