Pattern drafting

I have been commissioned to make a hat similar to the black and cream one, which is quite large! I had inspiration about drafting a pattern, as found a flexible curve in my drawers, and initial attempts seem positive, ( see extra for very first draft. ) The wedding isn’t until September, and the colour hasn’t been confirmed yet, but I’m getting prepared!
