Vienna Again - Day 2
Another Backblip from Vienna.
Silly me, I posted the previous day's Blip in mono and tagged it Mono Monday when it was really Mono Friday!
My friend and I went into the old city while Hubby picked up the car from the car park as we can park by the apartment for free on the weekend. We visited Stephansdom (St Stephen's Cathedral) and decided to go up the tower for the view over the city. We took the advice of the lady at the information desk and visited the north tower. We must have been looking really old or tired this morning as the north tower is only accessed by a lift. Anyway, the view was great and the lift ride made it much quicker as we had a lot to see. The Blip is a close up of the wonderful shingled mosaic roof of the cathedral. The extra is the nearby bridge of the Anker/musical clock. Twelve historical figures move across the bridge each hour and all twelve move at noon. Unfortunately, we were there too early, at 9.30am. We then met Hubby at the famous Cafe Central for coffee and cake before heading off to Schönbrunn Palace. I never tire of this place with its wonderful gardens and architecture.
The Naschmarkt, with its fresh food and restaurants, was our next main stop and we bought olives, cheese and meats for a relaxed dinner back at the apartment.
