Allendale Tea Rooms

Let them eat cake, the best cake in the village!

And we did! Wendy's (of Wendy & Graham fame) Victoria Sponges & Caramel Slices were the order of the day, & boy are they de-lish! You must get down there to taste some of their great bakes, I know Jenny's Ma & Pa are friends of the owners & are frequent visitors (who wouldn't be be if you lived just down the road?!).

The Christmas spirit continued in fine fashion after our family trip to the Tea Rooms: we assembled invitations for Jen's sister's Wedding, we watched the family football team rivalry grudge match between Arsenal & Newcastle down the pub (it did not end well for local supporters sadly & I'll say no more than that as I wish to stay a few more days, & I'm sure Emily's partner Dan was close to sleeping on the doorstep), Daddy C laid on a tasty turkey curry for dinner & we braved another evening of board & card games.
