Black-headed Gull: Eyes on the Bread
Better in large ("L").
I only visited Mount Pond briefly this afternoon: I came home shivering because the wind had picked up and the clouds had rolled in... It is now 30 minutes later and the sun seems to have reappeared. Grrr!
The light wasn't fantastic, but there were patches of blue sky to the north so I tried to position myself so that I could include the blue in my photographs. A mother and her small child came to feed the birds; the mother had the right idea (from my point of view) and was lofting the bread up for the gulls to catch on the wing! I love the squabbling noise that they make when they're all jostling for the bread...
I managed to capture a few of the birds actually grabbing the bread from the air, but the light was less good so they seemed less striking than this one in spite of the good timing and action.
