Relics

This old sewing machine sits on a shelf of the bookcase in the lounge, along with other items of interest from the past. The biscuit tin is another. They all reflect the character of the owner and her love of design through the ages.

The horsey book in the background, I guess, is one of the things she has kept from her childhood. I remember the name Pat Smythe from my own younger days in South Africa. I think she used to write a column in a girls' comic called 'Princess', which would arrive 3 weeks after its publication, having come by sea from the UK. Changed days...

I thought the black & white was appropriate today.
