Brian had a big birthday
Here is one of my walking friends, Brian. It is his birthday today. After the long walk, (10 miles in the heat), there was a birthday bash at the General Havelock Inn in Haydon Bridge. We had cake (which was amazing).
Brian made a speech about the walking group. He is one of the founder members. He and 3 others decided to complete a series of walks, the Haltwhistle Rings, by walking together on a weekly basis. The Haltwhistle walking group was formed and is still going strong.
I had walked today, but with the Walk for Health. The Corbridge group walked from Haydon Bridge. We walked uphill, (very steep) to Haydon Old Church, then down again. We were mainly on field paths, some invisible, but much preferable to a tarmac walk. We went to the General Havelock (see above) for coffee. Some of us stayed for lunch.
I nipped home, made a dessert for Mum after her lunch and then returned to meet the walking group.
The weather was perfect and we sat outside overlooking the river South Tyne.
How old is Brian do you think?
