The English Market in ................. Cork
A surprise. We travelled South and West from Belfast to Cork. Enough time for tea and cakes at the B&B, followed by a stroll into town. The centre is packed with students, either working, eating, drinking, running, flirting, busking, or anything else you can imagine. Found a little leather shop, where the owner fixed my broken belt with two rivets and a 30-minute conversation about everything he could tell us. On to a wine bar (I’m close to being Guinnessed out). Then found a rotisserie restaurant where the portions were so big that each plate would feed three Frenchmen. During our wander, we turned into an old covered market as it was closing. It is called (in case you hadn’t guessed) the English Market. So full, we headed back to the room for a lie down. Blarney Castle tomorrow, then off to the ferry for France.
