May the 4th be with you!!
“It’s a beautiful day” to quote U2.
Well it’s early evening now and still warm. 24C here this afternoon.
We were at the hospital before 8.00am for my Post Op checkup.
The lovely young lady Consultant pronounced that everything was fine.
I will see her again in August.
So off to the nearest Garden Centre for a celebratory coffee and a search for some small paving slabs. I think it will be better when we have a visit to a reclamation yard.
No joy at the Garden place.
I then sat down in the summerhouse and wrote a letter to our son and his wife as I’ve taken to doing that recently.
I just think it is nice to receive something handwritten at times.
Anyway I like writing letters! I soon had several pages covered!
It was popped in the bright red Post Box at the end of our road just after lunch, along with a birthday card for my sister, whose day it is tomorrow. The red Pillar Box sounds fairly empty these days when you hear the envelope plop down to the bottom.
Yet at Christmas time it is still in constant use and filled to the brim! One tradition that has not gone out of fashion. Although it does warrant culling the list from time to time given the price of the stamps!
Time to water the garden as the temperatures are lessening.
There are two new shrubs which we planted after having a conifer felled the other week. It was dying.
The tree surgeon showed me the inner branches which were brown and bare. Red spider mites are a nuisance.
Another sunny day forecast here tomorrow with 24C in the afternoon.
Making the most of these lovely days. My shorts made an appearance late morning!
Not for public viewing I might add!
On that note I’ll go and connect the hose outside before I get too idle!
