Survived the exhaustion of holiday to return to an instant plunge to the deep end at work; overbooked and not a single cancellation (I rely on them to get to the toilet, and, if I really get to push the boat out, a drink and a sandwich...okay, slight exaggeration maybe, but utterly relentless... massive spike in waiting list, the person who had come in to cover one day a week just after the new year is already backing out.
I know I’m slow, I know I spend too long, in fact I’m probably shit at it but then it’s a crazy buckling system struggling to meet a remit that it has long outgrown.
