Devil's Punch Bowl

We awoke to a rare event - blue skies and sunshie. It didn't though, and by the time we got to Hindhead for our morning coffee in the Devil's Punch Bowl Cafe the clouds had started to appear, and the sun to disappear behind them :(

Still, it was good to get some fresh air and a take some quick blips of this popular natural feature. Since the old A3 has been dug up (the road having been diverted through the longest non-estuarial road tunnel in the United Kingdom), the National Trust have been working hard to return the area to nature. In particular they have been clearing trees and shrubs to open up views across the punchbowl. The area looks a bit raw at the moment, with exposed land and tree trunks where vegetation has been cleared, but already is greatly improved, and is prooving extremely popular with walkers, cyclists and the visitors to the cafe, such as ourselves!
