One of Millions
Brown-veined White (Belenois aurota aurota).
This butterfly is one of hundreds upon hundreds of thousands on migration.
Following heavy rains the night before, we experienced this lemming-like migration that occurs annually at this time of year.
Their home range is normally in the arid west of the country, but due to favourable conditions, overcrowding results, hence this migration of very large numbers eastwards in search of more host plants.
We were treated to day long waves of this little critter passing by, which was a fantastic sight to behold.
