Back at the bench at wind turbine no 42.
My wife and I met our older son and fiancé this morning and we did a few things together today. Our sons did the North Coast 500 route last week in a hired VW camper van; today it was the time to return the vehicle, and a pick up was required. (They’d a great holiday together and thoroughly enjoyed Northern Scotland. They shared their trip experiences with us along the way; we liked that very much). The younger one was at a wedding today so missed out on what we all did after we met up - we went to the nearby Whitelee Windfarm. My wife and I were here last year on a very warm afternoon - boy, was it different today! The mist was down on the moor when we arrived, fortunately it cleared when we were in the cafe. We’d a pleasant walk at the largest onshore windfarm in the UK, (it generates enough power to provide electricity to around 300,000 homes; battery storage to improve efficiency is now planned). The turbines are 110m tall when the rotor blade tip is at it’s highest point, we enjoyed them close up. We were well wrapped up against the weather and ended up at the same bench as per 30 June 2018 blipfoto. We’d a rare blether.
We left and headed for Stirling ..... where we viewed and booked cars for their future Wedding. They’d researched well, and made a good choice. The big day is a while away, but it seems it’s best to book in advance.
I came back home via a couple of diy suppliers regarding some things I’m gonna do at home this month.
Tired tonight
