Stirling castle from the motorway

Having managed to avoid Glasgow during the run-up to Christmas we relented this dreich Sunday morning, thinking it would be quiet in the dead time between Christmas and the New Year, and nipped down the motorway.

Half of Scotland had the same idea.

Entry to the motorway from the Keir roundabout offers a spectacular view of Stirling Castle and even on a day like today it has an eerie beauty.
