B.A.C.K. to Basics

Merry Christmas!

It's finally here! Christmas morning...

The kids were very cute this morning, waking up before BJ and I, went to the kitchen and made our coffee before waking us. Then as we stoked the wood boiler and added the cream/sugar to our coffee's - they waited patiently in the living room, scoping out the gifts.

Christmas morning has always been a very enjoyable, relaxing time for us. We've made it a priority to enjoy each gift and watch as it is opened before moving on to another. The kids have learned by our example and this year, it took us an hour and a half to finish opening gifts. It was wonderful. The wrapping paper would go directly into the garbage bag, the gifts were handed out one at a time, each was appreciated and we all enjoyed the morning.

Some of the memorable gifts this year were:

Kaylee: Softball Glove, mini-speaker for her computer, a Ring, some outfits, slippers, and X-box games. From Meme & Papa: a Ukulele and a microphone. From Grammie/Auntie: Nail art, Xbox game and a Coach purse.

Colby: Yoda slippers, boost necklace, Xbox games, and star wars legos. From Meme & Papa: shoes, metal detector and kit. From Grammie/Auntie: Star Wars lego set, clothes, Cabelas hunting kit.

BJ: Carhartt pants, a new Boston Red Sox hat, Olympic Weight collars, hunting pants, clamps, hunting calls, a trail camera and let's not forget the deer mount coming soon.

Amy: "The Proposal" DVD (with Sandra Bolluck - I just love her!), hunting pants, a new hat, a new laptop, a kindle HD and gift cards for my Birthday shopping trip.

All-in-all, it was a very Merry Christmas and we're very grateful for a healthy, happy family to share the joys of the season with.
