Into the Light
The plan today was a blip from River Festival, but the best laid plans and all that....
It was a surprise when the weather changed, summer is no doubt over for another year, cloudy, cooler and intermittent rain being the order of the day. I went in to meet Ann out of Blue Cross, as I was crossing the railway bridge I noticed this train at the station.
On investigation I discovered it was a renovated vintage Pullman train, Northern Belle. Fitted out in the luxury style of the Orient Express, the train runs excursions up and down the country offering a top class travel and dining experience, according to their web site. It was parked up at the station as a Stratford Day of Leisure trip from Liverpool Lime Street, checking the web I see seats were from £305 per person.
Anyway, that's not why we didn't get to the River Festival. We had lunch at Pret then had to go shopping for supplies as we're going on a short break tomorrow, also we decided to buy a picture for the lounge that we've been eyeing for a bit, so that had to be taken back to the car. All that plus Konta, Murray and Dan Evans at Wimbledon today.
