A rare moment
Well, I have been very restrained and have posted two blips until today without Gus in the starring role (in the photo at least). Here we see him on his morning walk, in his favourite field on Arnside Knott, a rare moment when the sun shone and he sat still for more than a few seconds. And he is sitting where he loves to sit, next to Wifie, though not in the full lean mode that he usually favours.
I said yesterday that his first two nights had passed without so much as a whimper. I spoke too soon. Last night, after we went to bed, he showed us that he can bark. He was missing all the attention he had had yesterday, but it only lasted a couple of minutes and then all was quiet for the rest of the night.
This afternoon he made a new friend when we went to see Mags, and we walked from her house to the Strickland Arms. We were drenched on the walk back in the dark, but Gus was in indomitable spirits all the way, constantly weaving around us to keep us together.
