The Devil's Punchbowl

Is being beautifully restored to nature! Until August 2011 the main A3 between London and Portsmouth transversed this natural amphitheatre. The cleared area you see is where the road once was. Today with the A3 now underground within the The Hindhead Tunnel, the bowl is a peaceful place to walk and enjoy the scenery.
