The Blue Lagoon
I've lived in Letchworth for 9 years and I haven't found this before. It's a place of local legend and folklore. I think is is an old clay works, dug by hand to provide clay for the nearby brick factory. There is more history here. here. Like a lot of places (it seems particularly in Hertfordshire), there are grizzly stories of headless torso's being found. There was a mental hospital nearby which resulted in some patients being found in here or in the nearby Green Lagoon (again hearsay).
Anyway after a determined and muddy walk I found this place. Frustratingly I arrived after the last good bit of sunshine which I had seen earlier as I slithered amongst the trees.
So this is a fairly mundane view - however it is here as a test. If you have a look back here you might guess what's going through my mind for a future blip.
