Diary of an Edinburgher

Date slice pleeeeaaase...

Becky came to take Archie out to the park for frisbee fetching. I admire her perseverance.

I spent part of the morning out in the sun reading my book. Kindles are great - you can read in bright sunshine.

We still haven't decided on what paintings are going where. Might as well have a re-arrange for the next five years. And we don’t want any more unnecessary holes in the new walls, so we have to be sure.

When Arch came back, we popped to the cafe for my coffee treat. There was an orange cat sitting by the doorway, who didn’t budge when Archie walked by. And he didn’t say anything, sensing it wasn’t scared of him (unlike the neighbour's cat).

A young lady came and asked if this was Archie. She's Bailey's new owner. Bailey was our friend Janet's schnauzer, but Janet had to give her away to a good home when she got too ill to cope with her. Lara promised to meet up some time when Bailey's back in Edinburgh (she often stays in Glasgow with Lara's mum).

JR then went off to her favourite shop to swop a lampshade she brought yesterday - two sizes to see what fitted best.

No tennis today, but the final of the football fitted in well with my afternoon plans as it finished at 6pm, when we were due at a neighbour”s for drinkies ...

Here's Archie in the cafe, with his pleading look.

'Can I have some date slice?'
