Ready

The visit started with a quick bed rest then switched gears into one of our longer walks of late. Along the way my mom said, "I don't want to drop dead." And then, "And I don't want to be a baby." At the time I took it to be a paradoxical reflection on endings. She doesn't want a sudden departure nor a lingering, dependent-making one? But maybe it just meant, I'm tired but I'll keep going.
