Cutting scale corrugated metal siding

So today I spent a couple of hours and 6 exacto blades slicing up long pieces of scale corrugated metal siding (S scale) into 30" scale widths.  There were three lengths supplied (thankfully) - 6, 8 and 10  foot scale pieces.

After a little frustration, the blip shows my temporary invention to hold the material and cutting straight edge angle still while I sliced the siding - down the gully not the ridge.  The piece of wood to the right is the width gauge provided by the kit maker - Raggs to Riches.  Very handy.

The Extra blip shows the finished product and the three collections of lengths.  VERY glad this is over.  But with a sharp blade it went well and no blow.  Even Raggs said, in his directions, that working with scale corrugated metal was his least favorite material.

Next step is to paint all the siding and roofing pieces I have cut. I will attach them to a piece of cardboard with some double sided tape the Raggs recommended.  The tape is supposed to hold the pieces for painting but release them without bending them up.  Hopefully!  They will be sprayed in the booth with Rust Oleum auto primer in a dirty white color - again recommended by the kit maker.  The roof pieces get a dark green as well.

Cutting this stuff was a first for me.  I have used a paper product in the past for corrugated metal because this stuff does not take water based paint and is a b---h to glue.  So lots of double sided tape should do the trick.
