Day 5 - Skerwink Trail and Cape Bonavista

A good start to the day in terms of weather so we set off on a 5 Km trail along the coast that was great scenically, but a little testing at times in terms of the steps!  Great view of Trinity Lighhouse, and the sound of its foghorn as the fog came in was haunting.

We finished while the weather was still good and then set off for Cape Bonavista at the top of the peninsula and watched the weather decline!

Historic lighthouse here too.  This is the place that John Cabot is meant to have landed in Newfoundland, having set sail from Bristol.  Growing up around Bristol I was aware of him from a UK perspective, so it was wonderful to be at the "other end".

Also came across these wonderful stone figures at teh edge of the cliffs.  Drove back to Port Rexton in the driving rain!.
