Gold Coast Marathon finish line

I was a support rider for a wheelchair marathon athlete , each athlete had a dedicated person to ensure there were no hazards, call out for bumps and pot holes , warn runners of the chair near them etc . I was with Christie who wheeled herself non stop over the 42 kms without a disgruntled word about the rain or wind and with such determination . She was keen to go under two hours , she was the second female across the line in one hour and 50 minutes , an average of 23 km / hour , we arrived just in time to see the elite man and women runners come in behind us . It was the most inspirational time Ive had out on my bike
