All things bright & beautiful ......
Sunday 7th July 2019 (backblip)
....... all creatures great & mainly small
We had a lovely walk at Westgate Wood this afternoon ....... the sun was shining (most of the time) .... but there was a cool breeze
We saw lots of life about ....... there were Blue & Great Tits, Robins, Warblers, Dunnock, Blackbirds & Magpies ...... in fact there was a whole lot of twittering going on!
The butterflies were out in abundance ..... many of which I have included in my blip ..... we also saw Large Skipper, Green-veined White, Small Tortoiseshell, Painted Lady & Red Admiral!
Blipped:
Top left: finally managed to get an image of a Ringlet!
Top right: Comma
Bottom left: Meadow Brown (with it's wings open for a change)
Bottom right: Gatekeeper
Centre bottom image: A mystery! It looks like a type of Grasshopper (to us) ..... but it appears to have only one back leg ...... any ideas as to what it is please?
Update: It is a type of conehead bush cricket ..... thanks to Chamaeleo for the identification :-)
Hope you like my choices :-)
