Smokey 1639 hr (Tuesday 9th July 2019)

Smokey's day has been a succession of resting places starting with the bench outside the kitchen window, then somewhere hidden in the garden, then the car port roof and finally to here. There could have been other spots too, such as the roof of the garage behind. I think he is miaowing to me here, but he could also just be trying to cool down in this Wimbledon weather. The last hour he's spent in my study, staring at me in an effort of mind control that would result in Food. It worked.

This is the Wire Tapper Edit of a track from Ililta!: New Ethiopian Dance Music. It originally appeared on The Wire Tapper 26 but is now included on a second CD included with The Wire Tapper 50 in this month's The Wire, to celebrate the half-centenary with a selection of exclusives, rarities and special edits from previous CDs in the series. This one had me whirling like a dervish so hard that I took off and landed on the ceiling.
