A Visit To Downton Abbey

This afternoon, Mr. W and I popped over to Downton Abbey for a quick visit.  "Downton Abbey The Exhibition" is currently on view here in Boston, so naturally we had to go have a look!  The costumes were beautiful -- I was surprised to see that some of the gorgeous evening gowns used in the show were actual vintage pieces.  Although we enjoyed the experience, I have to say that I found it much smaller in scope than I had imagined, and I didn't feel I came away with any new insights.  I also thought the mandatory exit through the gift shop less than thrilling.  Most of the stuff on offer was pretty trite and tacky!
