Gretta Anna Teplitzky
I did a little bit of baking this morning and I decided I would make the batter for the Gretta Anna Carrot Cake but turn it into muffins instead of one large cake. I have been making this recipe for years and a while ago I was able to purchase a copy of the Gretta Anna Cookbook on eBay. It was first published in 1978 and my version is the 13th print run published in 1988. It's a really precious book and I was thrilled to find one for sale and one in mint condition.
The much-loved Gretta Anna Teplitzky is to Australian cuisine what Julia Child was to American cuisine, introducing the home cooks of Australia to her own unique style of fabulous French-style cooking, with her practical, no-nonsense recipes that work every time.
Gretta Anna passed away in 2010 at the age of 81. Here is a link to her Obituary that was published in the Sydney Morning Herald in June 2010.
Cook opened her home to students The only think missing from the muffins at the moment is the icing which mainly comprises of Philadelphia Cream Cheese and Icing Sugar. I can tell you they're delicious without the icing and unbelievable with it :))
