From Out of the Depths...

If Lovecraft were still with us I'd like to think he'd write about metal monsters and this is one helluva metal monster!

A subway system is being constructed in Nanchang and this is the site of one the stations, very conveniently located for me as I happen to live in the apartments that can be seen in the background.

Behind the monster crane and clad in scaffolding and green netting is the Shangri-La hotel that should be finished in the next couple of years - so a subway stop and a 5 star hotel right on my doorstep :)

Luckily the woman walking past didn't wake the monster and so managed to avoid being snatched up by the creature's tentacles and consumed as a tasty snack.
