Graduation Day

Today seems to be one of many days which is graduation day. Aberdeen has two universities, and is building ever more student accommodation blocks. One of these is just out of picture to the right, a not very pretty large grey box still under construction. There are several groups of students in gowns having their photographs taken. 

The Union Terrace Garden is not looking as good as in past years at this time. In the autumn it is due to be landscaped to a new design. The Council probably considers it not worth spending much money on planting this year. In previous years there were hanging baskets on all the lamp posts, there are none this year, and the flower display showing the Aberdeen coat of arms is a bare grassed area.

Thunder storms forecast for this evening. It did feel rather clammy this afternoon so the forecast may be correct.
