Tower Raven
It’s been a long day, and I’m still on the tube headed home at 10:20 pm.
I started with a visit to my favorite London site - Tower of London. They had a raven chick hatched this spring, but he’s grown quite a bit. This blip is young George. I was thrilled to get so close for a photo!! The students from the US enjoyed the Tower, too.
Then we took them to visit the East London Mosque. That was very interesting. Our guide there did a wonderful job answering questions. It was a good learning experience.
Lunch was at Poppie’s Fish & Chips. Yum.
Then we went to get ready for the event at the community center. We had a good turnout. Two of the local council dignitaries even showed up. I did henna for those who wanted it. Two other ladies helped. A couple of the young ladies did face painting. Others prepared food (including waffles) or helped with games or music. For the family time there were crafts for the children. It was a good time!
And now I’m ready to be home, feed my kitty, and collapse into bed!!
