An eventful...

...return to the office.

Caught the early flight from Lerwick and we were back in the office for 10:30.

Shortly after there was the smell of smoke...shortly after our power started dipping, lights & screens flickering and there was a loud grinding noise too...shortly after our fire alarm went off and we were evacuated.

As we left the building there was a copper shouting at us to move and get up the Royal Mile...he was running too...not the way to control a situation!

Began to wonder if we were in the midst of a terror attack. We are a stones throw from the Parliament and Holyrood Palace where the Queen has been this week!

Turns out it was an electricity sub-station had went fire, a car was close by, they were fearful of it all going up.

We were out our building for about three hours...went and had lunch at London’s, very nice, firs time I’d tried it. Then had a meeting at the Parliament that wasn’t evacuated.

By the time that was completed we could get back in. I collected my stuff and was grateful to be heading home.
