Great Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopos major)

Yet another garden bird shot I am afraid.  If you have read many of my blips you will have realised that birds are one of my major interests so you tend to get a lot of my shots of them when I am lacking inspiration.

This is a this years juvenile.  I know I have blipped it recently but unlike its parents it doesn't take fright at the slightest movement.  I am hoping I can get it to feel relaxed as it turns into an adult.  However if it follows the normal pattern it will leave the area to find a territory of its own.
