Beach Sports

On weekends it can be bedlum by the two piers when daytrippers descend.

But midweek is another story. Tourists, locals, hospitality workers and English language students relax and enjoy the beach. This image is of one of many groups of students chatting, bathing, playing beach volleyball, footie, exercising ...

Been playing around with the original (shown in Extras) for a while. Not quite sure how I achieved this abstracted version, but rather like it. It somehow reminds me of one of my favourite artists, Cyril Power, who did some dynamic linocuts, notably of the tube and skaters and oarsmen.
