Reading with Grandma
I went to the gym this morning and managed to do a full workout. There were not many people there and so the equipment I needed was available. I purchased some fruit on the way home as I am not having a lorry delivery this week.
After lunch I went to my daughter's home to be with Sybil for a while. Her family are away and she gets very lonely. She likes cuddles, but only on her terms. Eventually rather than sitting on the rug, behind my head on the sofa and on the chair arm, she graciously decided to sit on my knee. Today's picture, taken with my iPhone, shows her sitting on my knee, inspecting my Kindle. After a while she decided that she had received enough cuddles and went off into the conservatory. So I have had a peaceful afternoon, sitting in a different house. I had planned to sit in their garden, but a few drops of rain prevented this.
Earlier today I telephoned the Cataract Waiting List at Addenbrookes Hospital, to see where I was on the list. Professor Bourne is away until August and then there are eighteen patients in front of me. I have been pencilled in for the afternoon of Friday 13 September, good thing I am not superstitious. However, this could change if the surgeon decides that he wants more leave. I was hoping that it would be done earlier so that I got used to driving with it before the dark nights.
The GMT noon temperature today was twenty-four degrees Celsius and it has been sunny all day. However, a few drops of rain fell during the afternoon; not enough to water the garden!
