Books Etcetera

This is the display in a well-know bookstore - you'll recognise it. These bits and bobs are for e-books and using up lots of shelf space for real books. It's not good business actually; the potential income from these few thingies wouldn't come close to revenue from a shelf of books!

I do like real paper but I use e-books as well, before you start!... Mind, I read loads of things that the ubiquitous website says "Let the publisher know if you would like to read this on your Kxxxxx". But I want to read it now!!

However... you can't buy e-books in-store here despite this display unless you have a voucher from the aforementioned goliath of on-line trading!

Real booksellers promoting their biggest competing format? It's all a bit like the church selling tickets for the strip club. Now there's an idea...

The book is dead. Long live the book.
