An Exercise....

Yesterday i spent a big part of it working on this painting.......it's not finished yet, and so today i'll keep at it! I'm doing what i believe is a very good way to try and learn a new medium...i'm copying an artists work that i love and admire!. I subscribe to her blog and she's great at giving mini lessons there....with the reference photograph. In this one i'm trying to duplicate, there wasn't a photograph, just a couple of preliminary sketches. I know i've said it before....this is way harder than it looks when i watch the experts - but then again, i have to be reminded, they have been doing it for 20-30 years....so it is much easier! I've been making pots for almost 30 years and so many aspects are very easy....and when a beginner tells me that it looks easy, they are right! But i am loving this time to explore!

Big snow storm during the night and my poor dog, Zoe decided to get some kind of upset stomach - i was up 3 times between 3 - 7 am to let her out! howling winds, blowing snow - luckily i can just hitch her to a chain out the front door!

Terry spent a very long and difficult time attaching the snow plough to the truck.....and now he's off ploughing the driveways to the cabins. they are full for the next few days!

So the last day of 2012....some pondering to do!
