The "Back Office"
A substantial part of my week is spent at home working in the studio or in the garden; and of course doing the full range of activities encompassed in the idea of "life at home".
Some kind comments have been made by fellow blippers about our home and the original church architecture which are much appreciated.
Today’s Blipfoto shows the East Elevation of the building. The three arched windows contain the stain glass memorials and the little extension or "Back Office" was the vestry where the minister would meet parishioners and prepare for the service.
It was also where the elders would meet for Session meetings. One elder, no longer with us, remarked it was the coldest vestry in the presbytery, despite having a fireplace, for the flu followed a very tortuous route.
In the level below accessed by an external stair is the original boiler house which now holds two heat pumps and water storage.
Despite insulating the floor and the ceiling of the vestry it remains the coldest room in the building.
