Last day...

...So we went to Ambleside in the morning to buy a badge for my camp blanket with the old man of Coniston on it. I couldn't buy it before I'd climbed it! Then we had coffee and cakes in a nice cafe called The Giggling Goose, by a stream. I think we decided Ambleside was our favourite place.

We drove from there to Windermere. It was a warm sunny day, so after browsing the shops, we found somewhere overlooking the lake on the grass and had a picnic. We spent the rest of the day there, mostly reading and recovering from yesterday's climb! My calves really ache.

We drove back to Ambleside at 6 o'clock and picked up an Indian takeaway on the way. Now we are in one of this tiny village's pubs...playing cards!

p.s. extra is of my 50s sweet adverts I bought Wednesday. I still love them and can't wait to frame them properly!
