Wild flowers

Aren't they pretty? And I know that many of you will point out that one of the prettiest is the invasive Himalayan balsam. We are meant to be involved in pulling some up next week but a letter in the local paper suggested that was wrong as it is valuable to bees. Does anyone know about this?
