I was intending to spend the afternoon watching the Wimbledon ladies singles final on television but ........

driving back from Kendal late morning I saw the long grass in Jenkins Field being cut.  It reminded me that I hadn't walked by the riverside meadows for a long time and I didn't want to go after the flowers had gone. 
So, off I went after lunch with the aim of counting and photographing all the flowers I saw. I also hoped i could instantly identify them but failed on a few.

Thirteen photographed plus a tiny white star-like one which wouldn't stop blowing in the breeze so doesn't feature.  The rest are in extras. 

No flowers were trampled on in the making of the photos.
