Visiting my father's

The journey from Rotterdam to Groningen takes a lot shorter than from Maastricht, but one way or the other it feels odd to have a good time on our long distance cycle tour while my father is ill. I know it is not very useful to sit at home and occasionally visit for an hour. The distance is very frustrating. I have to trust that my four sisters will manage it together and my father's neighbour and friend, with whom I spoke, assured me that they surround him with love.

Tomorrow we'll continue our travels. I think it will take approximately a fortnight to get to Groningen by bike.
