Rock Dassie

Day 7: Namibia
It was a long drive north today to the Hardap dam nature reserve. The reservoir behind the dam is now down to 17% instead of the usual 70% as this area only received 4 days of rain last winter. It was 2017 since the last time they were able to open the flood gates. Many local farmers are now selling their animals as there is no food to feed to them. The drought is having a severe affect on the whole country.

Late afternoon we sat watching the Rock Dassies playing (main photo and extra). They were climbing all over the rocks and even climbed up a tree.
