Wheeling

I dropped everything and dashed frantically out of the house after a phone call from a farmer friend, who said that he had red kites circling with two buzzards over his tractor whilst cutting hay this afternoon. I owe him a huge thank you for this shot and thinking of me!

Great to see the kites in Tewkesbury and quite a novelty to see at least four of them so near us. Leisurely circling they were in competition with a huge amount of different gulls, buzzards and crows for the pickings in the field and it was quite entertaining to watch their antics, though, as they wheeled round, there was no doubt as to who the winners were going to be. Size matters.
