Speckled Wood
Yes, I've just changed the main and put original blip in Extras, because much though I loved taking it the quality of the bluetit pic just isn't good enough!
Originally I'd said:
Hogweed - Heracleum sphondylium - with added bluetit.
I can't pretend that in terms of quality this is the best shot I've ever taken (you get a long lens, you want a longer one, know the syndrome?) but it was the moment of the day that gave me most pleasure.
However, you now have this lovely speckled wood butterfly, who is up to some kind of standard. Both shots were taken on the track this morning.
This afternoon I met a good friend for a coffee. He's about to take himself off to climb Mont Blanc. Very best of luck, T. And what a nice time we had, talking the hind leg off several donkeys before outstaying our welcome at the uber polite coffee shop.
A suitable Sunday ;))
Have a good evening and I hope Monday treats you kindly xx
And a reminder: We are now about to roll into week 15 of this year's wildflower challenge (from midnight tonight. Please tag your entries and have in by midnight next Sunday x
