National Nude Day

I had a walk down to the Green to see the Summer Fair this afternoon. After a quick circuit I sat on the steps of the monument and did a bit of writing as I listened to the ukulele band. It wasn’t particularly comfortable so I ambled off.

I called on Jude on the way home and we sat out in her garden putting the world to right. Whilst we were sitting there the pottery bee brooch she had on her jacket that was over the back of her chair fell off and cracked in two. I remembered a ‘handy tip’ I’d seen on fb where a cracked china plate was put in milk and rejoined. After a quick look on google we stuck the brooch in a pan of milk and let it sit on a low heat. We had read that after an hour just let it cool and cracks would rejoin. What it didn’t say was that you had to check on the pan and not let it heat to the point where the milk just becomes a blackened crush clinging to the base of the pan with the metal fastening winking devilishly through the burnt remains. Oops.
