Blackbird (Turdus merula)

Another bird photo I am afraid.  At this tilackbirds.  I was hoping to get a shot of him with one in his mouth.  Sadly I moved too soon and was spotted, then he was off.

I almost blipped a Red Squirrel but the shots taken through the window were no good.  A few weeks ago the local paper told us there was an out break of squirrel pox and we should stop feeding.  Last week at an annual public meeting of the local red squirrel group we found out it was only in a small area where feeding should stop.

We did however buy a new easily steralized recycled plastic feeder.  I don;t know if that was putting them off but today was the first sign of a squirrel since we stopped feeding.
