Stepping back into Scottish rural life
We visited another of Scotland's hidden gems this afternoon, the Moirlanich longhouse in Glen Lochay near Killin.
Having been brought up on a farm in Wales I was curious to see what it would be like.
Would I recognize any of the artifacts? Well, yes and no.
A characteristic of long houses is that they housed the animals too.
That never happened in Wales though the huge chimney in the centre of the house was very familiar, along with the dresser and china.(see extra photos)
This National Trust property Is a perfectly preserved dwelling reflecting rural life from the 18thcentury until it closed in the late 1960s.
