On the Seventh day of Christmas

Which is also New Year's Eve...

Seven swans are swimming

Six geese a-laying (but not in this blip)
Five gold rings (The Olympics rings of course)
Four calling birds (and a couple of blokes called round too.)
Three French hens ( this is one of 'em)
Two turtle doves (well penguins actually)
And do partridges perch in pear trees...?

It was lovely weather for ducks today, but I couldn't find the swans on the river.

This is a swan bauble, it has been hung on my tree every year since the 1970's when I worked one Christmas at Harrods, in Knightsbridge. It was hard work, but great fun. When the decorations were taken down, we were able to choose something to take home. I chose 24 glass baubles decorated as animals, including rabbits, squirrels, kittens, cockerels, ducks and swans. Some have been given away, some broke, the few remaining ones are very fragile, but still look lovely.

Bottoms up to you all on New Year's Eve and may 2013 bring you everything you wish for. x x
