Kraalogie drinking red sugar water

I have no idea what this little bird is called in English, for once Google did not help, neither did my two Bird books (maybe I was too impatient and did not search hard enough). But I think it is called Kraalogie in Afrikaans, meaning 'Bead eye'.

We left Iceland trudging through snow on Saturday, arriving in South Africa in the aftermath of a 40 degrees heat wave, a bit of a shock to the system. Fortunately we both already had colds, so the change in temperature actually helped to make us feel better!

One of the first things I did after arriving at our house in Swellendam, was to put red sugar water in the birds' bottle. And soon afterwards we had our first customer, the little kraalogie in the picture.
